Questions and answers

How much does water tank cleaning cost in Dubai?

As an indication, cleaning a standard villa roof tank starts from AED 250, and an underground tank from AED 450. The final price depends on the size, the number of tanks, access and the condition, and the company confirms it before the visit.

How much does water quality testing cost?

A basic laboratory test arranged through a partner company starts from AED 300, depending on which parameters the lab checks. Treat this as indicative; the lab or the company confirms the price.

How often should a water tank be cleaned?

Most companies in Dubai recommend cleaning and disinfecting domestic tanks every six months, and many buildings follow that schedule. Clean sooner if the water smells, changes colour, or if the tank was open or damaged.

Is Dubai Water Tank Cleaning approved by Dubai Municipality?

No. We are a referral service and hold no approval ourselves. We only pass requests to companies that tell us they hold the relevant Dubai Municipality approval for tank cleaning, and you should ask the company to show you the certificate before work starts.

How long will we be without water?

For a typical villa roof tank, the cleaning itself usually takes two to four hours, including draining, scrubbing, disinfection and refilling. Underground tanks take longer. Fill a few containers beforehand for drinking and cooking.

What should a proper tank clean include?

Draining, removing sludge and sediment, scrubbing the walls, floor and lid, rinsing, disinfecting with an approved product, refilling, and before-and-after photos. Ask for a service report with the date and the product used.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to give access to the roof, the underground hatch and the water supply, and to confirm afterwards that water is flowing normally. For tenants, it is good practice to tell the landlord in advance.
